These classic grissini are handmade by a family bakery in Piemonte, the northern Italian region where the breadstick was first created over three centuries ago and where the craft of making them properly has never gone out of fashion. The dough is made from locally milled flour and maize with quality Italian extra virgin olive oil, mixed to a simple, authentic recipe that has remained largely unchanged since the bakery first opened its doors in 1945. Each stick is hand rolled into its characteristic long, irregular shape before being fast baked to a satisfying, even crunch, the slight variations in thickness and texture that come from being shaped by hand giving them a genuinely artisan character that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate. The result is a breadstick with a clean, delicate flavour, a light wheaten sweetness carried by the richness of the olive oil and a crisp, airy snap that makes them deeply moreish.

Italian WHEAT Flour, Maize Flour, Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sea Salt, Natural Yeast, BARLEY Malt. May contain traces of sesame, hazelnut, almond or walnut. The flour used in these breadsticks is from a mill which also handles soya.
