Cacao Fruit is a dark chocolate sweetened in an unusual way, with the juice of the cacao fruit itself rather than added sugar. The cacao is grown by Mayan and Qeqchi communities around Lake Lachua in Guatemala, planted alongside bananas, cardamom and coffee. The fruits juice is needed to ferment the beans, and any extra is drained off and used to gently sweeten this special bar, giving it a light, natural fruitiness. Made from just three ingredients (cacao beans, cacao fruit and cocoa butter), its organic, vegan and gluten free, and made in the UK by Chocolate Tree.
