How long have you been with Infinity Foods, and what drew you to work here?
I've been here for 4 years now, which really isn't that long considering how long most other people have been here! The idea of being part of a worker's co-op is what drew me to work at Infinity — everyone being treated equally in terms of their contribution to the organisation really aligns with my personal ethics.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
I work in two different departments so my days vary greatly depending on which role I'm doing. If I'm working in Collating (ie. order picking), my day basically involves walking around the warehouse, putting products on pallets — I normally like to challenge myself by either choosing to collate the more difficult orders or by seeing how much I can collate in a day. If I'm working in Packing, my day involves helping to run one of our packing machines, where we empty sacks/boxes of bulk products into the machine, which then packs it down into retail-sized packaging. In both these roles, the days go by quickly, which is something that appeals to me!
What most surprised you when you came to work at Infinity?
How strong the sense of community is within our organisation — there are lots of people, with lots of different opinions, from lots of different backgrounds but there is a strong sense of caring.
Do you have a favourite product or brand on the shelves at Infinity?
Without a doubt Mummy Meegz — I have a ridiculous sweet tooth.
What did you do last weekend?
Went to Tidal Gathering on Saturday (a metal/rock tribute festival) and then to see Moby at On The Beach on Sunday.
What makes you most happy?
Seeing those closest to me having a good time.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life and not get bored of it, what would you choose?
Hmmm probably pizza. Mainly because you can really put whatever you want on it (and yes, pineapple does belong on pizza).
