What Happens When a Food Cooperative Goes to a Martial Arts Class
EventsOur good friends at Nam Yang recently invited Infinity Foods to join them for a very special open session they put on to celebrate Refugee Week, an extensive programme of events held across Brighton and Hove that also included advice hubs, storytelling sessions and community gatherings.
Held at their HQ at Hove Methodist Church, this special event brought people of many nationalities together to enjoy a free Martial Arts training session.
There was a great atmosphere as everyone was put through their paces during fun group exercises and one on one sparring bouts.
Everything we love about Nam Yang was on show. The club was the first Martial Arts club in the UK to gain "Club of Sanctuary" status and they pride themselves on their strong philosophy of inclusivity, values that sit very close to our own cooperative beliefs and commitment to sustainability.
This is how it is at Nam Yang, the club's door is open to all and that welcoming vibe was obvious from start to finish.
The session ended with an amazing free meal served up to all participants.
We left Nam Yang a little tired and sweaty, but with full tummies and hearts.
If you want to see what you've been missing out on, head along to Nam Yang HQ on Portland Rd in Hove or contact them to arrange a free trial session.
